How Do You Keep Your Teeth Healthy?

  • Brush your teeth at least twice a day, in the morning, after breakfast and at night before going to bed. Ideally you should be able to wash them after lunch.

  • Brushing the teeth for at least two minutes, starting from the gum and going in the vertical direction; the rotating brush is on the outer surface of both the inner teeth. Finally, brush your tongue to remove bacteria that can cause bad breath.

  • Prefer the medium bristle brush if you have no particular problems and the soft bristle brush in the case of sensitive gums. The toothbrush with hard bristles are not recommended by dentists.

  • Change your toothbrush every two months, or more often if the bristles are deformed.

  • Use dental floss at least once a day, preferably in the evening. The floss is gently passed between the teeth along their natural curve and should not be rubbed on the gums to avoid damaging it. After using, rinse.

  • Which toothpaste? Depends on the needs of everyone. Ideally, therefore, seek advice from your dentist
    .
  • The mouthwash is not essential and can not replace the use of the toothbrush. In some cases it may however be useful, for example when you have gums particularly sensitive. Many use it then to hide halitosis. Also on the possible use and the choice of mouthwash is indicated seek the advice of your dentist.

  • Going to the dentist once a year even if you do not have any particular problems. An annual visit is in fact its recommended to prevent caries or other disorders. Use the controls also asking for advice on how to take care of your teeth and your gums.

  • Take care of your mouth also means following a diet that is not conducive to the emergence of problems and that is to avoid excessive consumption of sugary foods and drinks, do not use too much alcohol and not smoking.

  • In special cases, if you are out and you do not have the opportunity to brush your teeth, you can use a sugar-free chewing gum to freshen your mouth. This must not become a habit because chewing gum does not exert the same action of the toilet brush.

  • Finally, do not neglect oral hygiene of their children. Children should be brought to the dentist since I was very young, and to prevent any disturbance to the teeth, and to educate them in proper oral hygiene.
